2024 Premier Senior Hurling Championship

Was getting the train back from Dublin yesterday and a loads of Sars supporters piled on at Thurles.

Despite the historic result yesterday, Based on the shooting accuracy of those lads the future for the club is somewhat bleak.

The fuckin condition if the jacks after them was a complete disgrace

Seeing that they've just won a Munster final after years of Cork clubs (including themselves) being embarrassed at this level, I'd say they'll be happy enough. Correct though re shooting. Cost them badly in county final when some great ball winning and running at pace was undone by some brutal wides, especially in first half.

Again yesterday, should have been well more than just a couple of scores between the sides at the end.

For the fellas I could see the real cost was not in the county final a but a trip to Michael Guineys for a new pair of cotton rich undies.

The Hurling will basically look after itself after that.

Huge achievement for Sarsfields. The job their management have done is exceptional. I didn't think they would win it based on Ballygunnars history but also their style of running the ball so much against Feakle because that would give Ballygunnar targets to hit but they seemed to change their style and just go long time after time. that's not easy to do.

Cian Darcy and Bryan Murphy were unreal. Ballygunner couldn't handle Darcy - he broke free of the challenges into space at will. How old are these 2?

Smart game plan, get runners going at that half back line and you'll expose their lack of pace. Ballygunner punished for not letting younger lads progress through over the last 12 months - Aaron O'Neill was probably the stand out waterford u20 playing wing back, much better than Harry Ruddle or Shane O'Sullivan.

Delighted for JOC, takes a lot of stick for his inconsistency, and even yesterday he mixed the great with the not so great but he is a seriously difficult lad to stop. Final score was class.
I believe his brother Evan is joining him next year.

The whistle had only blown and Pádraig lodge asked mullane will this win raise questions about a team losing a county final being allowed go forward, the is was then carried on by that flute O’meara in the studio who reached for the classic Rte gaa question about this giving rise to issues about the structure of the championship, just thought it was outrageous to be focusing on this rather then a brilliant performance and win but so typical of Rte where so many of their commentators/presenters are ill informed and don’t have anything to add to the flames themselves.
I’m not Sars obviously but I do think their attitude and performances since losing the county have been superb and as a cork man wish them well to win it out now
Surely it's embarrassing for Ballygunner to be 'bet' by a team that aren't even Cork county champions!
