First half was poor. Second half was better with more bite to it. Nice start for the Rockies. Not sure about the short passing though. Coughed up a goal cos of it. cotter and Connoly came up trumps...when fed. Don't think the Barrs' big players did enough.

This is Year 2 of the short ball experiment. Doesn't suit them imo, time will tell I suppose.

Cathal McAllister did a really good job in Christy Ring Park . Played two really good advantages in the run up to Barrs second goal . Made one poor call where William Buckley appeared to slip and the free awarded was at a time where the game was finely balanced , but overall he handled it well I thought

Good to hear, he's a nice guy. Saw him ref a few matches recently and he wasn't great tbh.

And for at least the 1st Rockies goal in fairness. Thought he had an excellent game and reffed the way the championship needs to be reffed

Poor enough standard down in Pair Ui Rinn , if Blackrock fed Connolly in the first half more could of been out of sight. Took to much out of the ball in first half . Barrs looked off it . Ben Cunningham would want to pull his socks up if he he wants to make the 26 for Cork panel never mind the starting 15. Cant understand the new format of 2 weeks off now and then back to football championship. 24th of August is next hurling game which is madness imo.

Certainly given the mad urgency of the inter-county scene which insisted the All Ireland Final had to go to extra time

I have no prob with a week off it make sense , I think if they have football championship first they should just run off all group games , and the same for hurling ,when it comes to quaters then you could go every second week .
