2024 Junior A Football Championship

Whats Carbery looking like?? Id have kilmacs, ardfield, and marys as favourites but im yet to see any of those teams play so far this year.
Looking like those teams are the main contenders, I'd have Barryroe, Haven, Ballinascarthy, T Mac and Colums just behind them. T Mac and Colums are doing alot of rebuilding with younger players so might come good in 2/3 years time, Goleen won't fear anyone either and will cause an upset or two

I agree with u CCF. Colums are an exciting young team just like barryroe. I have a wedding in Bantry at the weekend so i think ill pop over to Kealkill sunday morning to have a look at colums v barryroe. I am intrigued to see the young Murphy who was a dual minor last year playing adult football with barryroe. I saw he scored 3-4 against clon in the u21 A championship this year. Ibane gaels have been in thelast 4 u21 A finals in a row so i will be interested to see have these 4 years of obviously quality young footballers been integrated into the adult setup. Andrews from colums is another intersting player ive seen before at underage. Be very intersting to see how barryroe deal with his pace inside. Im also excited to see Cronin play. I was involved in selecting with the rebel og academy at u16 level when he was playing and he was a joy of a footballer to watch. Strong, low centre of gravity and a dogged worker. Has potential to be a great game and a nice hangoever cure standing out in the wilderness of the west.

Game was a massive let down. Probably should have stayed in my bed. 1-8 to 0-1 to Barryroe at halftime with little to no wind. Both o donovans were very good. very clever players. Cant really comment much as i left at halftime, there was no contest or reason worth staying as it was a one way show. Barryroes team was very young interestingly enough, barr 2 lads, almost all 13 other players looked school/college age.

Your proc posts paint a very clear picture that you are a Barryroe punter! No shame in that. Open your shoulders and be a proud club man- not pretending that you just happen to go to their games cause they are nearby

Junior A Weekly Roundup.

Kilbrittain, Mary's Barryroe & Kilmeen all with big wins in Carbery. With Kilbrittains win over Tadhg Mac Carthaigh arguably the pick of the lot.
Argideen Rangers & Kilmacabea both won also in the county league, with Argideen beating a good Ballygarvan team, Kilmacabea beating Castlemagner.

In Avondhu, Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels beat St James by 2 in the county league, Clyda also surprisingly beat Killavullen, with Ballyclough beating Mallow also.

In Muskerry, Clondrohid hammered a poor Ballingeary side, Kilmichael and Ballincollig drew, as did Donoughmore and Grenagh.
Aghinagh beat Na Piarsaigh well in the county league.

In Duhallow, Newmarket hammered Lyre in the Ducon Cup.

In Seandun, Glanmire beat Ballyphehane handily enough, Douglas & Passage both beating Whites Cross and Whitechurch respectively. The Barrs also beat Bishopstown.

Excellent report. Would just add that Mayfield had a good win away to Cullen in County league Div6
