2024 Junior A Football Championship

Think pitch availability is a big issue at this stage of the year..not many clubs want games played on their pitches at this time of the year..also it's great to play these semi finals at smaller venues, gives the teams a huge incentive to get to the final in PUR...makes it abit more special rather than playing them both in PUR
These fantastic games are ideal for club grounds..
Even most of the higher grade games are damp squids in our too big stadiums

Semi final venues fixed:

Castlemaytr v Ballgarvan on Sunday 1st Dec at 2pm in Cobh

Inniscarra v Kilmacabea on Sunday 1st Dec at 2pm in Ahiohill
These games should be played in PUR, simple as that. The games are delayed due to the county board so they should step up and put these guys into the second best pitch in the county. The key thing at this time of the year is the playing surface. In this instance it wouldn’t unduly bother all 4 teams to go into PUR either IMO.

Play the final in PUC then. It’s not that hard.

From the website today, the Ballygarvan V Castlemartyr game has now been moved to Pairc Ui Rinn. The Kilmac v Inniscarra semi-final is still fixed for Ahiohill. Wouldn't surprise me if that game was moved to PUR to make a double header as you've suggested,

Makes sense. No club ground would be in good condition at this time of the year, especially after the week we’ve just had. It’s only fair on the players to give them a surface that is conducive to some sort of decent football at this time of the year.

By right, the other semi should automatically going to PUR in the interest of fairness on it’s own merit. Not many junior players get to play there so being exposed to it in a SF would help for the final, for whoever wins.

Speaking to a few lads from Kilbrittain who played in PUR over the weekend and they were saying the surface is very soft and is cutting up very badly so don't see much difference between playing there on in a club ground..

If they were being fair to all the clubs involved surely PUC should be open..it being the County ground

In fairness that was after a red rain warning the day before which would have contributed to the softness of the pitch. It’s been mostly dry this week so the pitch should be a bit firmer
