2024 Junior A Football Championship

So SO’D is back for Inniscarra last night but they still lost to Kilmurry when he was playing?
No doubt Kilmurry 2nd team would be strong but how can we expect SO’D to come in and be the difference for Scarra to get over the line.
I’ve no doubt that they’ll put Eire Og to the sword but a final in just over 3 weeks, very tough for a player to get up to that speed in so little time after being out for so long with a serious injury.
Great to see him back playing but jury is still out on Inniscarra, Aghinagh still firm favourites
Kilmurry really strong at that level this year. They have 2 of last year's Cork minors who can't play with the first team because of the u18 rule.
o'Donoghue was supposed to be outstanding last night and the only reason there was a point in the final score, without him kilmurry would have won handy enough

O Donoghue has always been a savage footballer. His more natural code IMHO.

Can’t expect one man to win a game even at junior b level. Teams are getting stronger and stronger at junior b level and kilmuarrys second team would beat a lot of junior a teams such as blarney, ballinora, clondrohid. SOD will have the likes of Liam o Connor who has been flying for muskerry to accompany him with other strong players. It’s easier to flourish with stronger surrounding players. I think inniscarra will get through eire og with a bit to spare and aghinagh to get by donoughmore in a tighter affair. I’d give inniscarra the nod for the final as I think aghinagh are too reliant on twohig in the forwards.

Bal are under pressure but hurling this weekend and football after could suit them. Mahunas are on a roll but five days of a gap is tough on any team, especially when switching codes.

Unless gore and/ or Jennings get injured I can't see leap being caught in carbery now, Donie Donovan has them humming this year and there's massive drive after being pipped in the final last year
Kilmac v haven would draw son crowf

Kilmacs were very poor and will count themselves lucky to have got over Randals..Gore was well nullified by Randals who put in a huge effort and were unlucky not to snatch the win in injury time with a shot off the crossbar..Kilmacs only took the lead in the 56th minute and hung on from there...

Castlehaven v O’Mathuna’s tomorrow night in Dunmanway in the first semi final, 5 day turnaround for O’Mathuna’s from the hurling semi final with two players having to play a minor hurling final on Wednesday night aswell.

Nicely set up for The Haven, no fear they’d be asked to play on Sunday before/after the Senior game or on Saturday either.

Punish the clubs that promote both codes

St Mary’s v Balinascarthy in the quarter final on Saturday. St Mary’s probably after 3 weeks of football training now so might have the edge on Balinascarthy
