2024 Junior A Football Championship

I would still expect Kilmac to get the job done in Carbery but will be novel final with Haven/DOM in it
Kilmacs to lose for me, was expecting bal to get over Mary's with all there injuries and hurling to contend with but the fixture change puts a spanner in the works,

Still reckon it will be a Kilmacabea vs Diarmuid O'Mahunas final

Inniscarra scraped past Eire og in a semi last year. Have never won anything with a football.

Aghinagh will be strong favourites with Twohig to win it out.
Think both semi's will be close games. Inniscarra should get through but Eire Og were flying up until a few weeks ago so you couldn't rule them out. Aghinagh deserved favourites alright as you say, but Donoughmore are coming into the semi-final in a great position too. Aghinagh have been fancied by many all year to win mid-cork but Dmore have a complete free hit with nothing to lose in a knock out game and I think they'll have a serious cut off them.

Twohig is a class forward at this level alright and is well capable of playing at a far higher grade than he is. Brilliant free taker and well able to take a goal if he gets a chance. I'd wonder though if he is held, gets injured or has an off day, if Aghinagh have the other forwards to do the scoring instead of him. In the past few years in big games he must have gotten 70% at least of their scores. Donoughmores time will come but I think it's a year too soon for them and it'll be an Aghinagh V Inniscarra final. Early call - I'll go for Inniscarra to win it out.

O'Mathuna's have a hurling semi final on Sunday and the football semi final is on 5 days later, nice touch from the West Cork Board.

Is it Bal or Marys have a load of injuries? Mathunas seem to be flying in both, tough when games are coming thick and fast but very hard to stop a team playing with confidence and momentum, which I’m guessing they have in spades at the moment. Kilmac are clear favourites at the moment but as the pitches soften and weather gets worse, the better teams can be turned over a little easier.

So SO’D is back for Inniscarra last night but they still lost to Kilmurry when he was playing?
No doubt Kilmurry 2nd team would be strong but how can we expect SO’D to come in and be the difference for Scarra to get over the line.
I’ve no doubt that they’ll put Eire Og to the sword but a final in just over 3 weeks, very tough for a player to get up to that speed in so little time after being out for so long with a serious injury.
Great to see him back playing but jury is still out on Inniscarra, Aghinagh still firm favourites.

Bal are under pressure but hurling this weekend and football after could suit them. Mahunas are on a roll but five days of a gap is tough on any team, especially when switching codes.

Unless gore and/ or Jennings get injured I can't see leap being caught in carbery now, Donie Donovan has them humming this year and there's massive drive after being pipped in the final last year

Bal have been well able to combine the two codes over the last few years, fair play to them promoting both codes
