Did Ilen and Ballinora already meet this year ?

Only in the league but that won’t tell us too much at this stage of the season.

Final ends in a draw, Ballinora 0-15 Ilen 2-9

I only saw the second half and first half highlights but it looked like a fair result to me?

Ballinora missed some fierce goal chances. Kingston looked like the Cork senior footballer out there.

Ilen managed the black card very well but Ballinora got stronger as the game went on. They werew hard to stop them they got running at Ilen.

I thought there was some very good football played from what I saw anyway.

Could ballinora have got a penalty near the end?

Thought we were definitely better overall aside from the first 10 minutes where I think the occasion may have got to them, second goal was a killer too dropping in like that.

Absolutely delighted to have got the draw though and Ilen must be kicking themselves on the last free because they had it won.

Missed a penalty and kicked enough wides to have won that at the same time, should be a good replay.

Only caught the second half of clubber but very enjoyable . Thought ilen were a bit cuter up front and were far more efficient. Huge mistake on their end to get caught on the 3 up rule in injury time.. heads must have completely gone.. Shane Kingston was head and shoulders above everyone i thought .. only for him Ilen would have won by 4/5 points ..

Kingston was a powerhouse at CB and id love to see him get a run with cork footballers as he wouldnt be out of place . I had seen illen 3 times this year and i honestly thought they would be too strong for Ballinora as i felt they were ahead of all teams in intermediate but Ballinora are a very fit team and have some very good footballers and i think they will go in as favs next day .

Any news on replay date ?

Kingston was a powerhouse at CB and id love to see him get a run with cork footballers as he wouldnt be out of place . I had seen illen 3 times this year and i honestly thought they would be too strong for Ballinora as i felt they were ahead of all teams in intermediate but Ballinora are a very fit team and have some very good footballers and i think they will go in as favs next day .

Yeah thought we were in big trouble at the start but out scored Ilen 0-14 points to 1-5 for the last 45 or some, think we kicked 11 wides to their 3 or something like that also. Lucky to get the draw all the same.

Kingston is playing brilliant since he came back from injury, genuinely looks unplayable at times, probably worth a place on the football panel, it’s his second sport for sure though and Ben O’Connor knows him from the U20s so I’d say he’ll do everything he can to try and get on the hurling squad, even if it’s tougher, on a hurling scholarship in UCC.

Nothing on the replay yet, hurling is probably the more urgent of the 2 as they’re waiting on Ballinora now, so may play that next week, but neither fixed yet.

Kingston was excellent today. Would love if the cork footballers got him next year as he could make a real impact whereas he possibly wouldn’t in hurling.
