2024 Intermediate A Football Championship

From what I saw of Mitchelstown this year, I felt they've dipped in form. They have missed a few opportunities in previous years that seems to haunt them now. Losing 4 finals to Kanturk, Rockchapel, Iveleary and Aghabullogue has to have a mental affect on a team. As I said, they'd dipped in form a little this year. They weren't putting as big scores this year as previous years. I also felt they were open at the back and would suffer against a good counter-attacking side. Take Mark Keane and Cathail O' Mahony out of that side, and they'd be fairly ordinary. Seán Walsh has been a massive loss to them though. Fair play to Gabriel Rangers for winning it though. It is anyone's championship now.

Very poor from Mitchelstown yesterday. They weren’t at the races from the start. I’ve never seen a team which so much ability let themselves down on so many occasions. Taking away there 4/5 big names the rest of the team are very average and lack heart also. I agree Seán Walsh was a huge loss. He has never let them down in big matches over the years. Cathail and Mark seem half the players they once were and Beston isn’t getting any younger. Hard to see where they go from here progress wise.. The championship is wide open but I don’t see Gabriel’s strong enough to win it, Mitchelstown had an extremely bad off day and it was still close right to the end. Boherbue or Adrigole for me.
