How? They offered themselves as an alternative to the current government and they are not within an arses road of it.
Locals doesn’t matter a jot. The had 5 years since last election with a serious amount of government howlers and barely a difference, actually behind on last GE.
I can’t see how anyone can spin this as a good election for SF

It's not.
Was never going to be.
But as RTÉ are saying, the vote is way down but based on candidate strategy they might actually gain one or two seats. But on 21.1% (exit poll) that's an implosion from 36%.

Hutch in with a chance is entertaining but also laughable
