Cork City Fire Brigade

Retirement age is 55, states it on the latest recruitment booklet. Don’t think I would count the stuff they would see as a “cushy number”.
Think thats the same retirement age as the gardai.

Wonder what people think would be the optimal age for Gardai (Seargants and detectcives might be a bit higher) or Fire Brigade members to retire

55 is a bit young to be retiring, personnel working in those services would need to be starting young too to get their full pensions. I think maybe 3 years extra would be optimal, especially since their physical capabilities can literally mean life or death?
