An election in deep winter would likely reduce the number casting their vote alright so I can see why the Government would want that but if the withdrawal of the No Fault Eviction Ban goes ahead then even the electorate's gold-fish memory might still cost them. Big gamble if it's this year.

There won’t be any election in November. Senior government sources means one minister thinks they should. The party leaders have repeatedly said they want the government to go to term. And it’s in their best interests politically that it does.
