Went up a mountain yesterday..

the weather was actually ok - just misty - added to the atmosphere - twas like a John Steinbeck novel lol (in my mind anyway).. really... fab day had... just love being out in nature.. tis where I feel best - especially in the mountains..

We did the old kenmare rd yday - twas cool - so atmospheric.. felt like I was on a movie set..

Would highly recommend it. Beautiful scenery and apart from Torc and Windy Gap there's not much climbing to be done. Deffo need good walking shoes tough. Don't leave any valuables on display in your car either - said to be the occasional break ins in the car parks on the Killarney side. Must admit it took me a bit longer than 3.5 hours though. Think it was closer to 4 all in with stops at the shed and windy gap.

Girl in the office did part of St Declans way Ardfinnan to Mount Mellary about 6 hours approx

Not really into mountain walking Lee but as far as i know the old kenmare roads starts approx at Torc Waterfall and over the mountains to Kenmare.

That's the road to Coolea and Kilgarven with a nice stop off for a cheap creamy pint of Beamish/Guinness at the highest pub in Ireland
