A there’s an academic in Dublin who has set up a group who is advocating for home carers to work an extra 3hrs a week. 3hrs, this will give this group enough bandwidth to correctly discharge the right people to care home facilities and free up circa 1000 beds in a week.
The HSE have come back saying they can’t afford to pay these home carers the extra 3hrs.
The government are also refusing to change the tax bands to ensure carers do not inadvertently lose other social benefits because of working the extra 3hrs.
He was on Matt Cooper during the week. 3hrs like, a week!!! And no one is willing to listen and solve this.
