Cork Minor Hurling 2023

I'm a big fan of rebel og and have said so on here often enough but this is crazy. Their hands are tied nationally with the ages and while we all admire people trying to think outside the box this proposal could turn into a farce.
And Under 18 in 2022 wasn’t a farce? You had a team reach a Premier 1 final without playing a match and you had a county board who refused to give the winners of those same competitions medals until they were forced to see the folly of their ways

And u16 league, or there could be an u15 league for players on the age
You're going down a rabbit hole there.
Clubs care about U13,U15 & U17 championships Everything else is used to try & win those competitions. Clubs will just put out their U15 championship team in the U16 league and their U17 championship team in the U18 league and the whole thing will be a farce.

In my opinion, Rebel Óg should run league and championship at each age from U12 to U18. Not sure when things changed from that arrangement or what the reason was. Rebel Óg's predecessor, Bórd na nÓg, ran league and championship competitions at each age. Everybody understood it and it was easier for clubs to fill a team by having players play a year up as well as their own age.

Now, clubs with small numbers who, for example, may have fielded an U13 team consisting of U12s and U13s will have to field at U15 the following year if there are no U14 competitions. This means that some players will be playing 2 years ahead with the remainder playing 1 year up. It's not possible for such teams to be competitive and it becomes very disheartening for the young players.
Firstly, Rebel Og aren’t permitted to run u12 and u13 championships but they do run leagues.
Secondly there were never u17 competitions until the gowls in Croke Park started fiddling in things they knew nothing about, 17 year olds played Minor which was then u18.
Thirdly, why would 13 year olds be forced to play u15? Would they not have their own competitions at u13?

And you wonder why a generation of teenagers are walking away from the sport? This win at all costs mentality has to go. Clubs should prioritise their players not some mighty u15 championship

100% agree but you know that's not what will happen on the ground.
People are tearing their hair out trying to figure out how to keep young fellas involved while those idiots in Croke Park sit on their hands.

Why won’t it happen on the ground? It’s up to the clubs (including my own) to ensure it does.
Croke Park have done lasting damage to our games with their carry on first over Feile and now over Minor

People are competitive r&b and winning a Minor County is (rightly) seen as a springboard to future senior success. Hard to ask a club to sacrifice that if they see others not doing likewise.
