Go on deflect, if you're talking about Ukraine nobody has a problem except we are running out of room. That 1951 convention was for dealing with refugees after World War 2 and urgently needs updating, I don't think it was meant to be a scammers charter. All the countries around Europe are Harding their stance because of the abuse of the Asylum system.

You actually want to update the 1951 convention that protects refugees to make it protect them just a little bit less while pretending that E.U. Governments are "hardening their stance" even though in the E.U. Parliament this week the E.U. pledges more support to refugees, aid and Ukraine.

Neither the 1951 Refugee Convention nor EU law requires a refugee to claim asylum in one country rather than another. There is no rule requiring refugees to claim in the first safe country in which they arrive.

There is a system within the EU called the Dublin system under which refugees can be sent back to their point of entry to the EU to have their asylum claims processed.
