Corn Ui Mhuiri

Some serious young players around Ballinora at the moment, a good few of those lads were on the U18 team that won the Premier 2 football last year. Good to see they’re still going well with CSN.
There is a good few from a number of the premier 1 winning Bishopstown underage teams too on the CSN team. Some serious talent there too coming through.

Hammies beat Chríost Rí 5.15 to 1.04. Sad state of affairs in Chríost Rí.
God almighty it's such an enormous fall for Chriost Ri. They shouldn't be in the top level judging by results you'd have to say. And a friend told me that the school in Bantry beat them in Simcox recently aswell. The other side of the coin is that Hammy's have done great work and look like a strong team on paper there this season. Must try to get to the knockout games of this as they should be high quality.

Ya you’d imagine they’d be better off at B grade. Hammies have a strong team which is great to see. Rochestown probably the strongest of the cork teams.

The corner forward for Bandon is Maguire from Castlehaven. That’s some journey to school if he lives in Castlehaven.

Bantry are strong at that level for the next couple of years. Maybe not Corn Ui Mhuiri level but def one of the top B schools

Its not overnight this has happened, they have been getting some hammerings over the last few years.

This is true - have heard blame put on the diverse nature of the current student body but doubt this is the issue.
School is big enough to be able to field strong squad with boys from likes of Nemo, Barrs, St Michaels, Douglas and further afield.
For a school to be competitive at any sport, there must be buy-in from the principal and senior staff. This does seem to be the case at CCR these days.
Cork county Board should be interacting with the school to help them if necessary. Too big an academy of potential future county players to be let drift away.

Principal is a decent enough sort but not from the Chríost Rí staff as all previous principals have been.
Probably isn't as invested in the history and tradition of Frewen, Simcox, Corn Uí Mhuirí as his predecessors were.
That said there are footballers on the teaching staff.

Could be there is more of a focus on academic attainment.......

As a past pupil it is sad to see...........can remember trains to Port Laoise to play St. Pat's Maghera and a then Colin Corkery scoring frees from all angles.
