Good turn from Dickie Harris too.

An amazing film, has really stood up well.
Film students might call it a revisionist western but its last ten minutes stand up with anything ever done in the genre.


Hackman raconteuring in the jail about Two-Gun Corky is fantastic.

I love that he's a shit carpenter too.



Harris roaring back at the town from the coach is great. Really reminds me of the bleakness of Clint's Man With No Name films.

There's been some very good modern westerns. True Grit, The Sisters Brothers, Bone Tomahawk, 3.10 to Yuma are all hugely enjoyable movies.

Read Blood Meridian in the not too distant past. That'd make a great movie, I think. Bleak as fuck, but it'd be interesting to see how it'd be done.
