Midleton would want to improve a lot to be in with a shout this year. Looked very off the boil at times. Few key moments swung things for them. Lot of their main men anonymous for decent chunks of the match.

Not a great match but a big win for the Barrs. If they get into the knock-out stages they have a lot of potential. Hayes was pretty much unmarkable any time the ball went into him. Cotter caused a lot of problems in the first half, but in the second half the Barrs got to grips with him and kept Connolly pretty quiet as well. That said, the Rockies will be kicking themselves for a run of bad wides in the second half which allowed the Barrs to pull away.

I can't really remember seeing him ref before, but I thought he was very decent. Every bit as good as some of the well known guys

All three played. Thought Damien struggled for long spells, not surprised he had missed the last match. Conor and Jack were both involved in important scores in the second half. Jack looked absolutely gassed at the end, think he throws himself into tackles and picked up some heavy knocks along the way.
