The Official Spurs thread

I'll do whatever the fuck I want and you'll like it. You're not in SVH now m8.

Yeah good man.

Manager wins a cup final last night.

I say it was madness for his last club to sack him six days ahead of a cup final.

In that clubs thread.

The Special One has you locked in a vicelike psychological grip as you spent three years defending his clueless successor at Old Trafford. Even as every other supporter was laughing at the state of the club under Solsjkaer you were still crywanking about him being a 'club legend'.

Triggs m8, you are the Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer of the sports forum soccer discussion scene.

Yeah Doherty, Hojberg and Joe Rodon should have transformed Spurs fortunes. Son and Kane performed at their highest level under Mourinho. Eriksen wanted to move. Sacking a cup specialist manager the week of a final was insane.
To be clear I meant a pivotal 12 months ahead in the club's history.

Mourinho is a marmite manager.
His record is unquestionable.
I wouldn't have sacked Poch but it is what it is.

I think Hojbjerg has been immense.
Doherty at wb has recovered his form.
Rodon just has never got a look in which is unfair cos he's a solid CB.

If they'd won the league Cup it would have made getting rid impossible and a league cup but no CL isn't good enough. CL has to be the minimum, for finance, for the quality of player you attract, for where any club should want to be.

And I'm not being smart cos Spurs just got back in. Look at the players they're going shopping for vs the players who would be interested in coming otherwise.

I don't think Mourinho was the choice if a choice ever had to be made. Conte was there for the hiring last Summer and his Inter contractual exit and the lack of a warchest prevented it and it cost Spurs a Conte preseason and a Conte summer transfer window - and they got 4th getting 56 points under Conte , 3rd to Liverpool and City from the November he arrived.

That is a Mourinho appointment, sacking, a missed Conte, an NES and a Conte since Poch was fired and all the money spent on contracts and balloon leaving payments and the transfers in between. For the want of giving that money to Poch.

Anyway. Tis what it is.

Conte was supposed to meet Levy in Italy over the weekend but apparently Levy isn't going because they're confident Conte isn't leaving now. Might get to play with the big boys next season.

Oh, I'm so hurt by your opinion.

I think with a club like Spurs when they have the opportunity to win a trophy they should have done everything possible to win it.

Sacking Jose six days ahead of the final was basically handing over the trophy.

I understand fully the importance of top four but will Spurs win anything next season, unlikely?

Couldn't give a toss about what happened with Jose tbh. There must have been a reason Levy pulled the trigger on him. It's not like they were playing Orient in that final either ffs. They were heavy outsiders either way.

I'd be more annoyed that they didn't just get Conte last summer, but it worked out OK in the end. It's not like they could have challenged for the league with him or anything.

Jose has been sacked by his last 3 clubs now.

Chelsea, where he created a mess of his own making with the physio.

United, where he spent 400 million and bought mostly shite. And had United playing a brand of football that was a cure for insomnia.

Spurs, where he had them playing some of the most dreadful football seen in the EPL.

Always someone else fault though.

No interest in winning trophies?

Top, top Spursing.
I think the stock you put in Jose being sacked meaning they had no chance in that final is way too high.

They may or may not have won it with him. City owed them a beating in that game as Jose had gotten away with blue murder in a couple of home league games against them.
