I had him as a teacher when I was in Douglas Comm. He was always sound out and unlike a lot of teachers in the school he seemed to genuinely understand students and their problems.

He seems to do fantastic things for his current school, he was arranging breakfast and lunches for kids a while back I recall. Very nice man with a good heart.

He's a neighbour of my mother's. A genuinely nice guy who's doing a great job at what was traditionally considered a fairly rough school. Fair play to him.

It was never a rough school.

I didn't go there, so I'll take your word for it. The lads I knew who went there in the 90s were absolute sucks, but they probably weren't a fair reflection of the overall student body.

I have it on good authority that bullying is an ongoing issue at this school. Maybe making it co-ed might help but that remains to be seen.
