Absolutely delighted he’s signing.

In a summmer where De Ligt is going for ~£71m there's no arguing that Utd look to be overpaying considerably for Maguire.
But they've got piles of money, are a less attractive destination for top tier players these days and ultimately he's a considerable improvement on what they have.
If you hold your nose about the fee there's a fair few plus points about the deal.
He's:
- PL-proven & robust, averaging 30+ league games per season since he broke through @ 18 yrs of age
- Very strong aerially in both boxes
- Decent on the ball & can carry into midfield better than any of Utd's current CBs
- At a good age (26) for a centre-back to take a step up in class
I think he'll help Utd become a much more solid outfit domestically - and may even convince De Gea, who must be sick to death of tweedle dum & tweedle dee, to stay.
But whether he can hold his own at the elite level of the game (CL knock-out stages) has yet to be proven. He may lack a little bit of nous at the very highest level - especially up against nimble & tricky players.
Seeing little Mo Salah, with Maguire all over him, roll him so easily and slot the winner against Leicester sticks in my mind.
