FAI back in bed with SKY

The FAI has today announced that it has renewed its relationship with Sky Sports for a further four years until 2014.

The deal will see all Republic of Ireland home friendly games broadcast exclusively live on Sky Sports and all home qualifiers broadcast on a simultaneous basis with the state broadcaster, RTÉ.

With the agreement, Sky will also show a number of home U-21 international games.

"Sky Sports have been excellent partners for Irish football and I am very happy to renew the relationship with them for a further four years," said FAI CEO John Delaney.

"This partnership gives the FAI another important platform on which to promote our sport as well as providing important funding to develop football at all levels throughout the country."

Mark Deering, director, Sky Ireland, added: "The renewal of the agreement with the FAI ensures that Sky will continue to provide top-quality coverage of the Irish team’s matches increasing the breadth and choice available to Irish viewers."

so you cant afford to go to games anymore cause tickets in the aviva will be over a ton, and now you have to pay for skysports to watch it at home, how much is that about 60euro a month?

nice one FAI on bringing football to the people.
