What an amount of shite answers from supposed cork people. Do ye go around with your head in a bucket or what? They are building a bridge over the railway track to the houses on the other side of the railway line. This is because once the Midleton railway line is finished, it won't be practical to have a level crossing there(there is currently two), as there will be a train passing every 15 minutes.

Dredging happens all the time, just most of you are too blind to notice it.

Hope the keep the Victorian iron footbridge as the ugly concrete bridge in Glounthane for this project is appalling.

On a seperate note, I've always admired that lovely Georgian house you can see in the picture. Shame it's all boarded up and derelict.

I think a new roof was put on it recently and some restructural work.

I think that it was an old Marconi Radio transmittal station or something ?

It would make a fine house.

It was where Marconi Operators(and Marine Radio officers) were trained up to the building of Cork RTC.

The original plan was a road bridge from Tivoli to the other side. Not sure if this is still the plan.
