Whitehouse specialise in extreme electronic music, a genre they pioneered in 1980, which in the late 80’s greatly influenced, if not spawned a wave of, particularly Japanese, ‘noise’ groups. Trademark sounds are layers of white and pink noise, subsonic bass sounds and ferocious electronic effects. Coupled with this is the idiosyncratic vocal style of singer William Bennett, which when combined with feedback creates a unique electronic sound. Named ‘One of the Most Influential Groups Ever’ by Alternative Press, Whitehouse have played worldwide including Europe, USA, Canada and Japan.
