The Red Sea Pedestrians formed in Donegal, Ireland, in early 1999, when vocalist/guitarist Jude Hegarty decided to put some songs he had written on tape.
Having caught word that college friend, drummer Karl Downs had also moved home after travelling Australia. The two set about writing and recruiting the rest of the line up. Lead guitarist, Steve Dunlea and bass player Mike Gainey joined to complete the band. The music is a blend of progressive acoustic tunes, rock roots and uplifting funky melodies. The band draws it’s influences from the likes of The Dave Matthew’s band, Counting Crows, The Hot House flowers, The Red Hot Chilli peppers, The Stunning U2 , Jack Johnson and Ben Harper.

They have just completed out debut EP entitled “The Brighter side” mastered by Robyin Robins from the Bob Sieger and the silver bullet band, which was released on the 3rd of December.
