The Light Runners are a rare gem of a reggae band, featuring top-tier musicians from the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Denmark, and Ireland. Their powerful backstory is as rich as their sound—members have fled dictatorships, toured globally with soukous bands, led gospel choirs, appeared on The Late Late Show, and played some of Europe’s finest festivals. They've even supported reggae legends The Wailers. Rooted in traditional reggae, The Light Runners fuse original material with Jamaican, African, and English influences. Known for hypnotic hooks, smooth vocal harmonies, and an unmistakable African flair, they bring a truly international sound. Frontman Lazare Mbouwoua leads with magnetic energy, spreading joy and getting crowds of all ages moving.
