“When the last tree is cut, the last fish is caught, and the last river is polluted; when to breathe the air is sickening, you will realise, too late, that wealth is not in bank accounts and that you can’t eat money.”
Alanis Obomsawin, Abenaki Territory, 1972
Artist Siobhán Clancy in collaboration with Luke Myers at Cork Nature Network invite you to participate in a walk, talk and harvest of real wealth in Cork City Centre. Luke will share his knowledge of the relevance of biodiversity to ecological stability and show attendees how to identify and harvest pollinator seeds in wild spaces. All are welcome from the experienced grower to the complete novice. It is especially ideal for those living in precarious circumstances that do not have access to your own garden or growing area.
Please be aware that while we have made every effort to
plan walking routes that are wheelchair and buggy accessible, the ground is likely to be unlevel and weather conditions may affect accessibility. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing.
Look out for our harvest kits!

Seeds harvested will brought to the Spare Room exhibition in the site of a former bank to prepare for drying in the vault. Any suitable seeds will be donated to the Green Spaces for Health Seed Bank on the completion of the exhibition. You are also encouraged to view artist Rachel Doolin’s work The Heirloom Project sharing the vault space at Spare Room.
