A trio of international talents has converged in Cork, infusing the city’s music scene with a vibrant, global sound. Niwel Tsumbu, a celebrated figure in Ireland’s world music community, commands the stage with his virtuosic guitar work, seamlessly fusing Congolese soukous with jazz and flamenco. Nelly Cottoy channels her Trinidadian upbringing, delivering powerful Caribbean stories and reggae rhythms that inject an infectious energy into every performance. Completing the rhythm section is Diego Ramirez, an internationally acclaimed drummer and composer who bridges Irish jazz roots with the pulsating heart of Latin beats.
Together, these artists embark on a rhythmic conversation, blending deep tradition with spontaneous improvisational skill. Their live collaborations showcase Cork as a true creative crossroads, where African guitar, Caribbean vocals, and Latin jazz meet. The result is a sonic journey that is both technically masterful and profoundly resonant, inviting audiences to experience a unique and emotionally rich musical tapestry.
This is all a part of Cork Heritage Pubs City-Wide Jazz Festival Club 2025, Corks Best Venues & Corks Best Free Gigs.
