Cork singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist LYRA releases her soaring new single ?Falling? via Polydor Records.
Speaking about the single, LYRA explains: ??Falling? is about something I think most of us girls have experienced in life. You know these guys who want to have their cake and eat it? It?s about one of them! Falling for a guy, who it seems to be going swimmingly with only to find out he?s been seeing other girls on the side? I was quite naive and thought I could win him over and that once I?d done that - we?d be onto something great together. How fecking wrong was I?!I started writing this song at home in my PJ?s when I?d given up crying and decided I wanted to do something that had a bit of a sexy
feel to it, something that made me feel empowered in this shit situation I?d found myself in. I ended up going through quite a lot with this guy?I have a lot to say about it - he better watch out!?

A perfect blend of dark electronic pop, LYRA?s creativity manifests itself in songs, stories and art. Her love of vocal talents such as Kate Bush, Lykke Li and Bat for Lashes is obvious: part vintage, part contemporary, she exudes a sense of being free from the constraints of time and era. LYRA?s Rupert Christie (Kate Bush, Coldplay, Aurora) produced debut EP ?W.I.L.D? was self-released to critical acclaim and over a million streams on Spotify. That EP led to sold out shows in Ireland and London, festival dates at The Great Escape, Music Cork, Latitude and Electric Picnic and being featured on the 30th anniversary rework of U2?s The Joshua Tree - 'New Roots? alongside Kodaline, Gavin James, U2 and Imelda May - which went to number 1 in Ireland.
LYRA has spent the past year honing her sound, writing with the likes of Phil Cook (Birdy, Ellie Goulding), Carey Willetts (Dermot Kennedy) and Braque (Rag N Bone Man, Bastille) She recently supported Dermot Kennedy on tour and played with James Bay at the Live At The Marquee in Cork - an event she has always aspired to perform at and to call for a toast, her song ?Emerald? was synced in the latest Guinness advert - her favourite homeland drink!
