Ground and Water
By John Brennan
A retrospective exhibition of paintings and new works
14th July to 18th August 2019
Mill Cove Galleries, Kenmare and Mill Cove House, The Beara Peninsula
An exhibition of two halves by the respected Beara Peninsula artist John Brennan. The body of work in this exceptional exhibition shows his love of the West Cork landscape. He represents this in two forms one more literal one expressionist.
These paintings stand as a growth of over 20 years working, painting, living and photographing this special unique Irish landscape. The exhibition is on view at the Mill Cove Gallery in Kenmare and at his studio and gallery at Mill Cove House on the Beara Peninsula.
John is from Clonmel, County Tipperary. He is a graduate of the Crawford College in Cork. His ambition to establish an exhibition space that would be sympathetic to his and other artists’ work, encouraged John Goode and himself to establish Mill Cove Gallery on the Beara Peninsula in May 2000. The distinctive, unique and unspoilt landscape of
Southwest Ireland informs and inspirits his work. John has exhibited extensively, and his works are in private collections in Ireland, the U.K., America, France and Australia.
