Box Camera
Box Camera is fronted by songwriter Mike Lyons who has been playing in Cork bands on and off since 1992, with fuzz pop outfit Treehouse, Hooky and as a solo performer. Hooky was selected from the IMRO Showcase series in 1999 to play at a London Showcase for new talent and at that time, Ian O Doherty of The Star, described them as "the best unsigned band in the country". Queen Kong
This band deals with sexual dominancy/submission, pain love, anger, et cetera, but always with charisma and panache. With a style and flair that´s infectious. With a humour and a cork accent that´s charming. We had a Band this special on our doorstep and they´re forced to make a wage in Dub-il-in te-owen.

Arm the Elderly
Arm The Elderly arrived in 05 with a simple plan . Play it loud and make it groove , play to a crowd and make em move . With plenty of experience behind them having played in groups such as Bass Odyssey and Anonymous Groove in the past, our four heroes set about constructing the world of Arm The Elderly. Since the release of their debut ep" This Is not For Entertainment" it gone to become somewhat of a cult classic in their home country with praises from critics and fans including pick of the fortnight in hotpress. This alongside Arm The Elderly's no holds barred approach to their live shows has seen them play up down the country doing their own shows and in support of acts such as , The Sultans Of Ping , Republic Of Loose and Public Enemy . At the time of writing Arm The Elderly are back in the studio recording their debut album which should be out in the new year . With a host of live shows and new album on the way" it will never cease till the black flag of Arm The Elderly is on every street"

Neon Flea Circus
The origins of this band could be traced back to Wexford, by way of Limerick when three friends from school went to the big city in search of an education, in a bid to give their lives some tangible direction. It so happened that all three played instruments, with which they could attempt to replicate the spacey music that nobody seems to play anymore... The three soon found they needed some form of back beat to keep the whole thing in time, so they called another old mate from back home, who graciously joined them and added some groove to the mix. A few months later all but one came to Cork to continue their musical education, and forget everything else they'd learned in the preceding years. Luckily they found a man whose Bass playing fitted nice and snuggly in with the psychefunkamadelic thing that they had been honing for all those years.

Komodo
Komodo are Donna McCarthy-Vocals, Jason Carroll-Bass, Kevin O'Mahony-Guitar, Kurt Gaul-Guitar and Brian McSweeney-Drums. Each member of Komodo has a very different background in music. It's because of this difference in backgrounds that each song that's composed has different and likeable flavours to it. It's difficult to narrow down the sound of Komodo but it has been attempted to be called "Edgy..Indie Rock". Komodo have recorded their first demo in Data Studios. The demo has gotten great feedack and it's because of this reaction that their following is growing. The demo consists of perfect harmonies and intelligent lyrics all fused with songs that you can't stop listening to.

Jezery
Jezery essentially came about as a result of four friends and musicians who were sick of dabbling here and there in music when it was all that they really enjoyed and loved. We've played with bands like Ten Past Seven, Loaded Gun Effect, Charlie Don't Surf, The Gurriers, 28 Costumes, Vamos, Wallmark, Communal, Red Sea Pedestrians, Nassau, Lerner, Tone Control, Bilk My Dragon as well as many more and it's been class. In November 2005, we decided to record some songs, so we paid a visit to BPM in Douglas and recorded an 8-song "Demo/CD/EP thingy" called "Be Wide" with Finny Corcoran. Now we're trying to play as many gigs as possible and hoping people like the CD. We're always writing and jamming and stuff cos there's nothing better to do... is there? I spose not, says you.The cd is available in vibes and scribes and plugd records, and off us at gigs.

Beverens Toy
Beveren's Toy fuses musical elements from predecessors like Smiling Machine, Mongoose and The Glorified Jam as well as an interest in the unusual, the remarkable, and frequently the profane. Their music ranges from quirky, enthusiastic rock to bare-bones acoustic songs drenched in harmony to kicked-back reggae ramblings but always retains a slightly off-centre sensibility. In addition to their common influences, each of the Toy Boys has separate musical tastes and the five are lucky enough to mix in just the right proportions. It's just one of those happy coincidences. They have been described by the Evening Echo as "like the Blues Brothers...worshiping at the Church of Hendrix...the next big musical movement" and by Drop-D as "an AMAZING band...extravagant!" 2007 will see the first single (the video is currently in production) and an album launch.

My Evil Ex
Having supported both JJ72 & Vinny Peculiar (featuring Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke of the Smiths) on their Irish tours, Dylan & My Evil Ex earned the reputation of being one of the most entertaining and original bands around. The music of My Evil Ex has been described as “Nick Cave molesting Jeff Buckley” due to the haunting vocals, powerful song writing and energetic live performance. My Evil Ex provides the perfect foil for Dylan’s songs which range from dark and atmospheric to the subtle and beautiful.

Exit Pursued by a Bear
Exit: pursued by a bear count political and social satirists and expositors of sin, William Langland and Dante Alighieri as influences as well as the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth, James Joyless and other handsome radicals. The music, which began as a direct response to a series of uncomfortable silences and lulls in conversation has become the soundtrack to an investigation of the human condition.

Brian Deady
A vocalist that has been involved in various groups in cork for the past 7 years. After returning from a year in Australia at the start of the year with the ambition of starting a solo adventure. He started from scratch in Cork. Finding it slow to source the new backing band and with a history of creating and improvising sound with his voice, he took his love for soul/ funk and hip hop and groove music, mixed with some early learned beatbox skills he had formulated as a child, he had an idea. He went into his bedroom , borrowed his brothers 8track , pressed record and this is what happened...

Sounds from the Hot Press
Sounds From The Hotpress are Chance, Mr. Barton and Breakz. One part emcee, one part beat maker, one part tunrtabilist, yer standard hip hop outfit for all intents and purposes. Chance does the rapping bit while Mr. Barton drinks tea and mucks around with samples and all that lark and Breakz does all that fffrreeeessshhhhh scratching. You can usually find these bowsies lurking around Cork bothering semi-hot beours with low self esteem, making some hip hop.

Dirty Stylus
David George has been making music for almost ten years. Nothing remarkable until you realise he's still only 23. Originally from Edinburgh he has been hanging out on Leeside for the last while Dj'ing and "messing around with sounds".

Not one to stay in a spot for too long he's off to Thailand again soon, where he played a live set at the infamous Full Moon and followed it up with some radio play in the U.S. However he plans to return soon with a host of new sounds recorded in Asia.

Niwel Tsumbu
Over the last 50 years Central Africa has built itself an incredible reputation for giving birth to many of the World’s greatest guitarists, and Congolese Niwel Tsumbu is a fitting ambassador to carry that torch forward into the 21st Century. Raised on the traditional Soukous and Rhumba music of his homeland, he began playing from an early age, and went on to study both jazz and classical guitar - enrolling secretly in a classical music school where he also studied saxophone for a year.
