| Electric Gypsies are a young and talented band rising through the Corkmusic scene. Their style is an avant-garde hybrid of rock, progressive and alternative, a far cry from today’s emo and metalcore scene. The band mark themselves out by their diverse 'close your eyes and sway' sound. They give an impression of a band who are making music just for the fun of doing it, with the intent of actually creating something musically proficient; as opposed to technically driven speed metal symphonies or stereotypical power chord pop-punk that marks today’s music scene. None of the members appear to be working against the other, a promising sight for an upcoming band. Instead of competing for the spot of loudest instrument, the band is working together to for an overall enchanting sound, highlighting and contrasting each other, serving as a powerful backdrop for the soulful vocals.
