Éire 31

Éire 31 Statement July 2005
PeoplesRepublicOfCork.com

While we will settle for nothing but the total severance of all relations political, economical, educational, sporting and gatting with the Dublin Government and its collaborators we show some, albeit mild, aspiration for the unification of the North’s 6 counties and the Dublin controlled territory.

In recent times Northern Nationalists have felt uneasy about the notion of a 7th county being removed from the governance and bind of the IrishRepublic and Dublin influence leaving just 25 counties under its command. We understand this concern as Cork was Ireland’s stronghold of Rebellion during the War of Independence earning its title the Rebel County from the mocking “Rebel Cork” bestowed on it by the oppressing British centuries before.

As a gesture of good will we, the Provisional Government of the Peoples Republic of Cork are replacing the tired clapped out old Republican mantra of Éire 32 with the new dynamic hip-to-the-groove “Éire 31”.

As well as being fashionable and sssoooo this season we believe this new angle will help reignite a dual passion among Corkonians bored to tears with the current integrity sapped Republican movement. Young Corkonians will want to see the goals of what our republican forefathers fought for finally achieved through peaceful means and to obtain an independent sovereign nation for themselves here in Cork.

We believe that the order of these events is not important. A Peoples Republic of Cork can be achieved quickly and easily by a referendum and free gat. A United Ireland looks increasingly less likely as the political parties and terrorists still twist and turn perpetually on various permutations of the English language.

We can’t wait for ye lads we’ve got a train to catch and it ain’t coming from Hueston!
