Default Triptych 07 - Aberdeen, Edinburgh & Glasgow

For anyone in the Scotland region, this festival is running around the 3 cities from April 25 to 29. Would appreciate some advice here as to what to go to. I'd say I'll head to Weatherall, CSS, King Creosote, Prinzhorn Dance School and the Cinematic Orchestra. I've not heard of most of the others. Saw Gruff Rhys supporting the Flaming Lips recently so i'll give him a shkip. Bitta help from the posters more cultured than I, if ye please.

Thats some massive line up, sleepless crew aren't bad. I think they're from Glasgow. I picked up a record of theirs when i was in Edinburgh the last time and i like it. Erol alkan is always worth a look if you want some electro, he's plays stuff similar to soulwax's electro stuff so nothing too hectic but not bad all the same

Nice wan ked. Yeah I was thinkin Alkan might be good craic alright. His mix of Higher States of Consciousness and House Of Jealous Lovers always get me grinning.

How's tricks with you anyway? I'm gettin a wee bit freaked here, 5 deadlines in the next 2 weeks along with a job interview, the Scotland rugby game and Arcade Fire in Glasgow. A mate's got a ticket for me for Air in Glasgw too but there's no chance I'll make it. It's tough at the top I tells ya.

A friend of mine just described Ratatat today as "the most rocking band in the history of the universe", and he knows a thing or two about music;

I recall the Youngsters were proteges of Laurent Garnier a few years back and made some very cool electro. Could be worth checking out.

Dunno if you've ever listened to Gilles Peterson's radio one show but he plays really good music- a mix up of soul, jazz, hip-hop, house and funk.

As for the rest, I'll have to do some research.
Looking forward to this...
