And what exactly are Sinn Fein's policies on Cork?

They're so obsessed with the North, I can't remember them ever coming up with one. FFS their leader doesn't even sit in our parliament...

Like I just said, I'm impressed at the effort the Greens made. If you want to look beyond the establishment parties, they're a better bet and they have more chance of being in a coalition after the election.

Yeah.

Let's all vote for a minority party with less then 8% in the polls who will promise everything and then just prop up some bigger party when they get in.

Also most of their leaders (Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness etc.) live in the UK. I don't want a party led by people living in the UK running our country.

Exactly.

Like the PDs or the Greens, or even Labour.

All talk when they are in opposition, but when they get in they just prop up the bigger parties.

Would FG be any better for Cork than FF?

I struggle to see that FG have any policies at the moment. They are great at telling you that things are wrong with the health service and the transport system, but in fairness any moron can see that. They are distinctly short of proposals for how to change things.

The best I can say for them at the moment is that they don't have FF's proven record of failure w.r.t. Cork.

FG ignored Cork last time they were in: no minister, no voice at the Cabinet table.

I think that may be why they got hammered in Cork subsequently.

Now all they have is Bernard Allen, the last FG minister from Cork was Peter Barry.

Anyway, my point is that a vote for FG would be the same as a vote for the greens or the labour party or the PDs or whoever FG would team up with in order to get their hands on power.

Fair enough. But haven't we established that FF have ignored and failed Cork in a myriad of ways? What is the alternative? Vote in the same shower again?

The way things are set up, it appears almost certain that FF and A.N.Other party will form the next government.

This all stems, in my opinion from the civil war, and could be solved if FF and FG either merged or at least coalesced.

This way, there would be a real choice.
