Exclamation The Barber of Seville

Opera 2005 Presents:

The Barber of Seville

Count Almaviva is once again up to his tricks! In Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, prequel to Figaro’s Wedding, this time his quest is to marry Rosina, in spite of her guardian Doctor Bartolo (who intended to marry her himself!). Figaro the barber, schemes with the Count in a plan of trickery and disguise, to wheedle his way into Bartolo’s house where he seduces the young heiress Rosina.

We welcome back our friends and characters from Figaro’s Wedding, Opera 2005’s debut production. Once again Artistic Director, Kevin Mallon conducts, with staging Director – Thomas de Mallet Burgess.

“a superb, funny, engaging, delightful, totally distracting and musically marvellous concoction” - The Irish Examiner (Figaro’s Wedding)

“a rare pleasure indeed” - The Irish Times (Figaro’s Wedding)

Off to see it on Sunday, so I'd be interested to hear any reviews from people who see it before then.
