1. Real Madrid (mid 50s to mid 60s, and is also FIFA's official club of the 20th century)

2. AC Milan (late 80s to mid 90s)

3. Liverpool (70s to mid 80s)

4. Ajax (early 70s)

5. Bayern Munich (mid 70s)

6. Benfica (60s)

7. Barcelona (in general, i.e. no specific era)

8. Juventus (largely 90s)

9. Inter (mid 60s to early 70s)

10. Manchester United (late 60s, but largely 90s)

I cant believe that Sir Alex Ferguson cannot get into that poll.

Ferguson has won countless trophies over the past twenty years yet the Barcelona manager can get a place on the poll from winning just two Spanish titles.

The thread is pointless.

Not sure the point of voting for 5 teams. For me it has to be the Milan side of 89-90. But the team of 94 produced probably the greatest club performance I've ever seen, beating Barca 4-0 in European cup final.

Cant really comment on the Madrid, Ajax and Inter teams of 60's and 70's but by all reports that madrid team would be hard to beat

almost every older journalist that i've read eulogises about the real madrid of di stefano, puskas, gento in the 50's etc as being totally peerless in european club football history so gotta take the oldies word for it.
