Default Where to get phone unlocked in Cork?

I have an oldish scabby Meteor mobile and because it gets no signal whatsoever in Cobh I need to get the handset unlocked to put my O2 card in. Meteor won't do it until I top up the phone by a ridiculous amount and obviously because there's feck all signal where I spend half my time I'm not going to do that.

Can anyone recommend any shops in town that would unlock it for me? Or websites (couldn't find any that do SL55 unlocks).

Thanks

As far as I know, meteor piggybacks on the o2 network nowadays if it loses signal giving it pretty much the same coverage as any network.

There used to be a phone place on the Grand Parade just before the library but I don't know if it's still there but he unblocks phones.

If not, the evening echo would have stuff in the classifieds on unblocking phones etc.

Well if you have a shite signal on meteor, its gonna be shite on O2 aswell. They both use the O2 infrastructure
Maybe you should just buy a new phone?

O2 signal is fine down there (I went with O2 after I realised how crap Meteor are). I rang Meteor about it and according to the woman there (didnt sound like she had a clue) the signal only piggy backs on O2 when Meteor know they've got rubbish reception in an area....so because they think Cobh is fine you can't bounce off the O2 transmitter.

Thanks for the help anyway
