Default Barneveld hits nine-dart finish

Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld stunned the Bournemouth crowd with a perfect nine-dart finish in the Holsten Premier League on Thursday.
The 38-year-old, who joined the Professional Darts Corporation event earlier this year, hit the perfect leg during an 8-3 win over Peter Manley.

Barneveld's big moment came in the ninth leg as he moved 6-3 in front.

"It's unbelievable - I've hit a few nine-darters in smaller tournaments but never on television," he said.

"I've not got many dreams left in darts any more. One of them is to become the PDC World Champion and another was to hit a televised nine-darter, so I've achieved one of them

Anyone see it, what an athlete

A Sport where you are rewarded for drinking your life away and having too much fatty food - I'm just surprised someone from Barrick St, Bandon Rd. isn't world champion.

It's certainly a surprise that there are not more world class Irish throwers...I mean, this is one 'sport' where we have excellent facilities and the athletic prowess to excel in!!!

I like to see you take out a 141 finish in front of 3000 people, these men are masters of their sport
