Default Setting up an FTP Server

Hi i want to set up an FTP server on a windows ME desktop. I have tried using Serv U and it wasn't able to connect to the server.

Anyone here have a FTP setup at home?
How and what sofyware di ye use?

i use guildftp.

if you have a router, you'll need to forward port 21 to the machine with the server running.

you'll also need to make sure the server is actually running, not just installed.
