Same HDTV`s rhey use on the xbox 360 kiosks, but in 32"
on the 360 they look unreal, the depth is quite staggering,
yet this is because it is true HDTV using the HDMI connection.
corus / sky are still only using scart outputs on their boxes,
so whatever you watch will look nice, but not true HD
Sky are bringing out a HD box soon, fook knows if you`ll be able to get that here, that thankg will need bandwidth I`d say.
Some of the stuff is "HD" on sky, prob originally renderd for HD,
yet buy the time we get the signal its compressed to fook as well.
dvds woudl look the job, you can get seperate dvd players with the HDMI connection.
I dont reaily think TV (current signal) will look a whole lot better when compared to a standard LCD
from what I can make of it, progressive scan is better than interlaced, so make sure your HDTV has at least progressive scan / component inputs & HDMI connection
What actually is the HDMI connection? I've seen a few with just RGB Phono inputs claiming to be HD but i was told you need to use a DVI connection. Do either of these two actually work for HD or is there a new connection?

HDMI is the daddy connection.
audio & video thru the one connection.
the phonos you saw are ..er.... kind of hd, providing there was 6 of them
red,white (or black),yellow red,green,blue (i think)
that is called the component inputs,
before I woudl go down that line, i would definately
ask for a demo in the shop and compare the input signal.
there is DVI as well, you could go from your pc graphic card into this,
dont think there are too many set top boxes with DVI outputs?
i coudl be wrong....
The current rule of thumb is that HD is basically pointless unless you're getting a screen above 32" as you can't really see much difference, certainly isn't worth the cost.
Above 32" it probably will be worth it, but then, which is the better one to go for, Plasma or LCD, currently if it's significantly above 32", LCD is pretty expensive...
