Yawn! The sooner this is over the better, the whole years has just highlighted how incompetent the arts community are in this city. They couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery. I had friends over from France (Lille to be exact, last years Capital of Culture) and I was ashamed of how little was on offer. I'm tired of hearing how little money they had to work with, but they failed to capture the imagination of the people of Cork. They never inspired any confidence, so why would people want to contribute. I wonder what they will be doing in January?, I wouldn't employ any of them.

Zukio, where did you get your info from? It is not correct.

10, 000 tickets have been given out, so it looks like it will be a popular event. Says it all really.

Thumbs down

absolutely shocking. embarrassingly bad. at one stage, there were 3 plastic bubble machines, not even as good as those ones you buy for 3 year olds one of which was tied to one of the bridges, blowing bubbles over the "crowd".
completely half arsed, unprofessional. complete lack of coherence to the whole show. they didnt use the river at all, nor did they use the thousands of euro worth of lighting equipment to any effect at all!!!!

No one complained about the sound or the music, so it must have been perfect. :)

Why don't they bloody well advertise these things better. Hadn't a clue it was on. Neither did anyone I asked.

Was it on Sunday? Some people thought it was on Friday.

That's true, but all 12000 tickets were taken up, plus they let people in without tickets towards the end.
