It's a last resort of those who don't rate Henry to say that he doesn't do it in big matches. The lad is gifted and is the proto-type footballer of the future, there's so little to criticise about his game that people fall back on weak arguments that he only scores against poor opposition. Every striker (maybe Fowler is an exception) scores more against poor teams. It's only natural, esp. for Henry who has the pace & ability to make absolute monkees of everyone but the best.

Too skinny to say that. If he really wanted to be the best in the world he would have added a little bulk, which he could easily have done without sacrificing his speed or explosiveness. He's never going to be as strong as Ruud or Ronaldo, but he gets pushed around too easily.

In that case Cisse is the proto-type footballer of the future (cue lambasting relating to broken limbs)

Henry is actually quite well built when you see him in person. Strength isn't a major part of his game but he's no pushover (see how he holds off defenders at his back [ala his backheel V Charlton] for proof of that)

Maybe, I can only judge by shots of him standing next to other players. You can't deny though that he could add strength without sacrificing anything of his game.

For the Charlton back heel he was in the box, and no defender is going to attempt a challenge from that position with such a quick forward, so strength was irrelevant. In most of the situations where he has a defender on his back the defender is afraid to get tight because of Henry's ability to spin off so quickly. A stronger Henry could still spin just as quickly.

Maybe I'm a little to down on him, but it pisses me off that someone clearly has the natural talent and physical potential to be the best by a mile, but just hasn't gone that extra step to make it happen. "Its not his game" is not a good enough excuse for someone who is put forward as the best.
