The band first got together in September 1999 to play
a one-off show to commemorate the death of the
original Metallica bass player Cliff Burton who died
in 1986 while the band were on tour in Europe.
The professionalism and power of Metallitia is evident
throughout the show. The dynamic 4-piece are fronted
by the awesome Flash (ex-Thin Az Lizzy) on guitar and
vocals and he is ably complimented by this magnificent
line-up which features some of the best musicians on
the contemporary Irish rock music scene.
The band's set includes all the classic songs of the
last 20 years, from older tracks like 'Whiplash',
'Creeping Death', 'Battery', 'Damage Inc', 'One', and
'Harvester of Sorrow' to more recent material like
'Enter Sandman', 'Sad but True' and 'St. Anger'.
Metallitia have been described as the metal band to
end all others and any opportunity to see them 'live'
should be availed of as they play only a select number
of shows every year. In the past, Metallitia heve
played sell-out shows at the Ambassador Theatre and
Temple Bar Music Centre (Dublin), The Forum
(Waterford), The Vault (Cork), Dolan's Warehouse
(Limerick), Quays (Galway), Nerve Centre (Derry) and
The Limelight (Belfast). Uniquely for a tribute band,
they have played to over 1,000 people at the world
famous Ulster Hall, also in Belfast.
The band recently completed their first series of
dates in the UK playing well-received shows in
Scarborough, Newcastle-On-Tyne, Workington and Bolton.
The guys will be returning to Britain later this year.
Further recognition of Flash's reputation as 'Mr
Metal' in Ireland was provided in February when he
assembled a band of top Irish musicians to back former
Iron Maiden front man, Paul Di'Anno, on his tour of
Ireland. Flash will be staying on as music director to
Paul Di'Anno for any projects he undertakes in this
part of the world.
Metallitia's guitar driven performances have left a
huge impression on their audiences so don't miss the
chance to see these 'Master of Tributes' when the
opportunity comes your way!
