I only recently acquired a kindle so it's still a novelty for me, I find it handy and user friendly but some of the books on amazon are quite expensive.

You can get the complete works of Dostoyevsky for 99p but who's going to plough through that collection on Kindle?

I'm not surprised that Liam Ruiseals has gone out of business. Their selection of books was dreadful and very old-fashioned.

Having an Irish language book section that was twice the size of their sports section was an incredibly stupid move.

The public will only support local businesses that provide products and services that they want. Local businesses are not charities.

reading a book in bed helps to relax and switch off before sleep unlike electronic screens

I see Timetraveller's Bookshop has gone bang. No surprise there, it felt more like a museum than a place where you'd actually buy anything. Interesting for a browse. The price of their second hand records took the biscuit. I lolled out loud when I came across charity shop favourite the Stud Soundtrack priced at 75 Euros.
