0-14 to 0-11 to UCC after 10min of 2nd half and all UCC for the rest of the game, CIT not scoring again until injury time.

1-19 to 0-12 FT

Easy win for UCC without ever playing as well as they can.

Cit decided to play a sweeper which meant Mark Coleman was free for UCC, mad move by cit. and they did nothing to change it. How frank Flannery and pat Ryan with their experience didn’t make a move I dunno. Still wouldn’t have made a difference to final result but could have helped their cause

UCC have good potential, will take a decent team to beat them

Fringe players trying to make the league set up for cork like Robbie O Flynn and Sean Donoghue looked sharp

Mike cahalane wasn’t even togged with cit so injury must be not great

I thought most of the Cork lads looked sharp. I thought Griffin looked quite well and O Donoghue did very well further out the field. Kingston seemed to be worried about his hamstring in the first half and generally struggled I thought.
Coleman and Fitzgibbon seem to be flying.

UCC were the better team but CIT missed so many frees they threw away any chance they may have had.

Wasn't at the game so just going on what I read.

But you are so right in relation to the sweeper.

Mark coleman is so good on the ball anyway that you don't want to give him so much extra time that he can deliver perfect ball to his forwards.
Having said said that the CIT forwards had poor workrate to put him under pressure, at one stage he took a short puck out and the CIT no.13 just stood and never even came across to pressurise him

Depending on what UCD are like CIT could still come out of the group if results fall their way
