Be interesting to see what he gets up to when he gets back. Hopefully, he'll get a book deal and maybe an oul' film deal and live out his days in a splendour of dosh and chat show interviews.

Now lets say that a person from a certain belief system goes to another country (with the same belief system) but a country experiencing civil unrest and conflict. Certainly not for a holiday. Now the irish authorities are aware of this. Are they to let that person just stroll back into the 26 county republic?
This isnt a specific question about that egyptian lad from dublin. Its just a general question.
It started as a specific question until you realised you couldn't advance that argument!

The Irish state are aware that this man went to another country and did not commit an offence while there. Should we start questioning everyone who manages to go overseas and not get a conviction? Everyone who manages to go to Egypt and not get a conviction?

Nope. He will need temporary travel docs.

No doubt his vocal lefty supporters are organising these now and shouting down any concerns raised.

Smacks of desperation.
If he's not watched like a hawk, they have no business calling themselves police.

Have you any evidence for that or did you just read it in The Liberal?

An amazing result following years of hard work by the Department of Foreign Affairs. A great day for Ireland, and the rights of Irish citizens abroad.
