It's a bit unsettling that I might agree in some way with Bill but I console myself in the fact that it's probably for completely different reasons.

RTE's news coverage is a joke! Fake news in some cases! They can't be trusted to report things accurately!

This Podcast = Essential Listening http://blog.hereshow.ie/2016/06/here...-byrne-of-rte/

I remember back in 1987 when The Birmingham Six were appealing their conviction, I watched the case's progress on the BBC News because they were far superior to R.T.E.
R.T.E. has been an overpriced and often pathetic station for too long. Just look at their attempts to do comedy over the years. Sports coverage and commentators average at best too Mattie.

News coverage is worst feature of RTÉ, same small group of journalists from same small area, repeating same themes and asking for each other's opinions. Group think on a grand scale. No HD cameras outside Dublin , regional reporters confined to crime reports as the specific topic reporters all based in Dublin reporting on the real news. Will Goodbody doing his best PR work for the IT or science sector based in Dublin. All shots in Dublin must have glossy background but down the country we'll show the place in the worst possible way to reinforce our prejudices about "down the country ".
I'm not from the country or from rural Ireland just cos I live outside Dublin you muppets ! Hate RTE and simply don't watch or listen to it anymore.
