Default Court cases in yesterdays Echo.

Alan Fagan, a heroin dealer in Cork was caught with 2 thousand euro's worth of heroin.

A month later he was caught in Cork again after coming back from Dublin with 18 thousand euro's worth of heroin hidden in the engine of his car.

He got a six year suspended sentence for these offences from Judge O Donnabhain.

Just above that court report is another one that tells of a guy who was caught growing 62 grass plants at his house.

Judge Moran accepted that Robert Minihane was growing the grass for difficulties he had with his health and not for the purpose of profit.

He imposed a sentence of five years in jail.

I just had to mention this to help get it off my mind.

A good example of the stupidity of our drug laws and the lucky dip scenario that passes as our legal system.

It is hard to imagine a context that could justify the discrepancy between the two sentences. There may be one, but it's unlikely.

What info? That I think the man is an idiot? and that he has proved that himself? I'd say it to his face as well....

I think the inference is that the heroin dealer is an informer.
