Default Bloc Party New Album

Anyone got their hands on it yet? Lead single is fantastic, album not so much.

Disappointed.

Thought he was gone solo?

Anywho, their last solid album was Silent Alarm, the last two were only good in patches.

He went solo and they got back together this year. Silent Alarm was fantastic, the other two had their moments but "Octopus" was a very strong lead single and had my hopes up for a return to form. Even something the standard of the second album would've been a success but this is as bad as the 3rd.

Thinks there's some really good songs on it that eclipse anything on the last record and equal some of my favorites from the second album. I really like the more atmospheric tracks on it...not so sure about when they try to rock out. As an album they'll never come close to the debut again though.

Pitchfork gave it a whopping 4.9 which is pretty bad even by their wanker standards.

Mediocre write up in Q but decent rating.

Well if any of their previous efforts are anything to go by 4.9 is generous.

I've listened to it twice now and it's distinctly average.

They should retitle the songs "FIFA 13 Soundtrack Hopeful No.1", "FIFA 13 Soundtrack Hopeful No.2", "FIFA........... "

I'm digging it but I doubt it'll be an album I'll be digging out in a years time for another listen! fairly average!
